all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that
deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth
and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will
believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have
delighted in wickedness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 NIV
And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from
heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on
behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. Revelations 13:13-14
"sign" that he was the Son of God. Jesus had only
been healing almost everyone crippled or with
disease that he came in contact with. What more
could they want?
Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees
answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from
thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil
and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and
there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the
prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and
three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of
man be three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth. Matthew 12:38-40
That was a very interesting response from the "King
of Kings". He obviously was not impressed with their
desire to see tangible proof of his words. They would
have already seen more signs than anyone could
want if their hearts had not been hard to the truth.
Jesus answer should speak for itself. We are told that
without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews
11:6)
The lust for supernatural experiences is growing in
our world like never before. We have been
bombarded with so much occult and psychic
happenings that some people don`t think anything of
it. The purpose of these few pages is to build on
chapter 8 from the book, dealing with the tremendous
deceptions that already exists as well as the
intensification of deception in the future.
The most heart rendering aspect is that so many
people have no idea what is happening. There are
good and decent people being drawn into these
things that honestly believe they are pursuing truth.
There are also people that have rejected the truth of
the Gospel that have no defense. Children are
growing up with absolutely no clue as to who Jesus
Christ is or their eternal destiny.
There are three dangerous and deceptive major world
wide happenings that I want to try to expose from a
scriptural perspective. There is much more "spiritual
deceit" in the world we live in but these three are
major and a good place to start. Follow the links
below to learn more about Wicca, UFOs and The New
Age Movement. You may feel no need, but I promise
you before too long, you will know someone
involved with these things. You might have the
chance to help to save their "spiritual life" and
influence their eternal destiny.
My information is quite brief, but there is much
Biblical Christian information on the web for those
wanting to search. I simply desire to make the
information available for the many people that just do
not know.
seeing a growth and revival of the
supernatural, occult and witchcraft like
never before. Every where you turn there is
some mention, product, icon, or display of
things dealing with the occult. Pick up any
cheap tabloid, and the back pages are full
of psychic ads trying to sell you your future.
In many public junior high and high
schools, it is considered cool to be in
witchcraft. There are now even schools
that teach occult material calling it
parapsychology.
Make no mistake, calling witchcraft science
will not change Jesus’ mind at all. For those
of us that honor and believe Gods word, we
have been warned repetitiously by the
scriptures. We have been warned against
following psychic phenomenon or seeking
after “hidden knowledge” of any kind. The
desire for the supernatural outside of God’s
will for us can lead to spiritual destruction.
Commandments were given to both ancient
Israel in the Torah and New Testament
believers forbidding any activity with
fortune tellers, sorcerers, divinations, and
all other magical arts. The punishment for
breaking these commandments under the
Law of Moses was death. We know that
grace and mercy has come through Jesus
Christ, and the harshness of Old Testament
punishments for sin was lifted. Sin still
remains sin. For the benefit of those that
may not know, let us look at what God said
about the subject. God’s position on sin will
never change. (Heb 13:8) What does the,
“one and only, Most High God” have to say?
Deuteronomy 18:9-11 (NIV)
When you enter the land the LORD your
God is giving you, do not learn to imitate
the detestable ways of the nations there.
Let no one be found among you who
sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire,
who practices divination or sorcery,
interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or
casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist
or who consults the dead.
2 Kings 21:6, 2 Chronicles 33:5-7
And he caused his children to pass through
the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom:
also he observed times, and used
enchantments, and used witchcraft, and
dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards:
he wrought MUCH EVIL in the sight of the
LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Isaiah 47:9
These two things shall come upon thee
suddenly in one day, barrenness and
widowhood. All things are come upon thee,
because of the multitude of thy sorceries,
and for the great hardness of thy
enchanters.
Leviticus 20:26-28
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the
LORD am holy, and have severed you from
other people, that ye should be mine. A man
also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or
that is a wizard, shall surely be put to
death: they shall stone them with stones:
their blood shall be upon them.
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying,
murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such
like: of the which I tell you before, as I have
also told you in time past, that they which
do such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God.
Revelations 22:14 (NIV)
Blessed are those who wash their robes,
that they may have the right to the tree of
life and may go through the gates into the
city. Outside are the dogs, those who
practice magic arts, the sexually immoral,
the murderers, the idolaters and everyone
who loves and practices falsehood.
